Nawaminphirom Park

Nawaminphirom Park is also known as Bueng Lam Phang Phuai -
(สวนนวมินทร์ภิรมย์ (บึงลำพังพวย)) and is very close to our home.

So we popped out in the morning to Nawaminphirom Park for a little bit of exercise - but so does everyone else!

There was also a playground, but had a strange floor

and a spaceship next door.

But we had some fun.

Terminal 21

Terminal 21 is another enormous shopping mall in Bangkok.

I have to admit that I am not sure of the reason to go in this one rather than another?

They are all a bit different so I would imagine that it is a personal choice which one you visit...

This one is Asok so it is easy to get to from the BTS.

Museum of Thai pharmacy

The Museum of Thai pharmacy is somewhere which I had read about on the Internet and was pretty close to where I was going - so I wondered down a side road...

It is on the third floor of the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage Building at 40 Soi Santisuk, Sukhumvit 38 Road.

In the Museum of Thai pharmacy there are apparently a number various topics - the Birth of Pharmacy, the Evolution of Oriental Pharmacy and Basic Wisdom, the Evolution of Western Thai Pharmacy and the Evolution of Herbs and Natural Products - thanks Richard Barrow.

Royal Pavillion Mahajetsadabadin and King Rama III memorial

The Royal Pavillion Mahajetsadabadin (พลับพลามหาเจษฎาบดินทร์) or King Rama III Memorial Park is somewhere I was going past and simply stumbled upon whilst I was aiming for the Victory Monument.

Next to this is the King Rama III memorial, erected in 1990. It is all set in a large garden area which is always a pleasure to find in Bangkok - near to Wat Ratchanatdaram.

Whilst writing this I could find very little about this initially - but I did find that TripAdvisor had a page about the best restaurants closest to here

Siam Paragon

Siam Paragon is a popular place for shoppers (with money) and it has everything it.  There were dinosaurs when we visited first.

The next was for Christmas.

Then it was time for Harry Potter.

We always go downstairs though - lots of places to buy some food - and all the places are not expensive...

Then there is Sea Life on the Basement Floor...

The British Club

The British Club may not be for everyone.

I visited the British Club when I was 16 years old and even played rugby for them! I was hoping on going into the bar to find if they still had my photo on the wall....

But I was unable to go in - next time...

Not sure how much had changed - I wonder if my parent's account is still open?

Walking the streets of Bangkok (part II)

Walking the streets of Bangkok is something that all visitors should do. There is such a mix of things to see...

This lady has the best Issan sausages...

Do you need your shoes fixed?

Some fruit perhaps?

Or some fried bananas?

Take some flowers to pay respect - hang them in your car or leave at a shrine?

Some dried beef? Whilst it's drying...

Then the Street Art which is scattered throughout Bangkok
- this is a traditional Alex Face.

Wat Pichai

Wat Pichai is a Buddhist Temple which is down a short road and if it was not for Google Maps and all those monks I would never have found it!

The entrance had the common cove over it and as I stopped I noticed that the entrance was adjacent to a small river

and there was a Monk giving blessings.

On walking down the small road it was clear that I had missed something as I was going in the wrong direction as many of the people who were walking and there were a number of stalls on the side of this small road.

On entering the Wat Pichai it was clear that something had just finished - it was empty and there seemed to be no noise at all.

I felt a little uncomfortable so took a couple of photographs and returned back to the small road - I wonder what I had just missed...
