Victory Monument

The Victory Monument in Bangkok was erected in June 1941 to commemorate the Thai victory in the Franco-Thai War, a brief conflict waged against the French colonial authorities in Indo-China, which resulted in Thailand annexing some territories in western Cambodia and northern and southern Laos - info from Wikipedia.

The monument is quite impressive and is surrounded by shopping malls and a market which is popular with the local people.

The location is also popular because of it is where the buses from all over Thailand arrive - so Usually make a visit here. However I have never tried to cross the road!
