Eating dancing shrimps

How about trying some Dancing Shrimps - best described by the Mark Wiens.

The Thai name of the dish is Goong Ten (กุ้งเต้น), which translates to “dancing shrimp.”  The cute little translucent shrimp are the main event – and they’re still living.  Goong Ten (Dancing Shrimp) is a traditional Isaan food that originates from the region of Thailand along the Mekong River.

This dish was found adjacent to the Khao San Road.

Pu Fai Chinese Temple shop

Pu Fai is a wonderful shop around the Suriyadej Traffic Circle in Phuket Old Town - but they are initially for people to purchase particular items for their homes and offerings to make in the Chinese Temples.

It is a small shop adjacent to the Pop Hostel - where I have had a cheap breakfast once whilst I was waiting for a bus home...

I always make a visit into these shops purely because I am always welcomed by the proprietors and they are fascinating places BUT they are places where a lot of items are for sale which have a particular significance - so please respect.

However this MUST not stop you entering them however - but please be aware that to treat the shop as a 'tourist attraction' would not always seem correct...

Then you can visit any of the great number of Chinese Shrines scattered through Phuket...

Take a Tuk Tuk somewhere

Taking a ride on a Tuk Tuk is a wonderful thing to do when you visit us in Thailand.

It is not something you want to miss - but it certainly is not for everyone.

around the Victory Monument

Recently they have had a spate of bag snatching that has happened to people in the Tuk Tuk so they now have a spiderweb spread.

Some Tuk Tuk now have loud stereo and flashing lights - more of these in Phuket though?

Always room on the floor for one more as well.

But I am fascinated with how much stuff you can get in the back though. I would also agree a price for the destination before you get in - ensuring that you know that they know where they are going!

Bangkok Art and Culture Center

Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC) was a place that I walked past when I was visiting somewhere else - not that I can remember where at this time though...

Here is some background of the property on the website - but could find nothing mentioned about the hiccup mentioned in the App I was using - Bangkok City Walks.

It was quite a surprise as I came upon it - on the crossroads which I was trying to traverse and I went up to take a photo of the street graffiti by Alex Face. So on entering I did not know quite what to expect and wow - it was almost like I was in a Design museum in the UK.

After looking at the design of the museum on the Website I only think I did 50% because I was so busy going somewhere else. I had a wonderful time - I will certainly have to go back again. So what do I recall of my quick visit?

The mask exhibition was my favorite - the colors and the vibrancy were wonderful here. I could have stayed in here for much, much longer...

Then there was the great number of little shops for you to buy something in - all very interesting.

Book Shops

Ice Cream Shops

and so much more...

Then there were a number of more displays along the circular corridor around the levels in the building - but I think that I only managed 4 levels?

Sathorn Pier

Sathorn Pier was were I had to get off the river taxi to visit a friend nearby there and I cannot remember quite why we were there...

It was certainly a bustling community there - with a plethora of people selling things on the street to people selling tours on the river - from food to bits and pieces...

I did enjoy the wall paintings though.

Then there is the river crossing to make - these seemed to be leaving rather frequently  and this is where I became a little confused because there were a great number of people trying to sell me a trip along the river - guess the camera round my neck did not help me! I chose to walk along the river's edge instead - gripping my phone carefully in my hand trying not to get lost.
