Kwan Riam Floating Market

Kwan Riam Floating Market is a Floating Market near our home so it is very convenient for us to visit. Well technically it is not a floating market because there is actually very little in the water - but never mind it is near the edge and there are some boats in the water.

We arrived on one side of the river and Wat Bang Pheng Tai

We walked through the local covered market to get there. Quite a spectacle in itself actually - there was a lot of food cooked in the middle and around the outside were shops, predominantly clothes. Then in the corner were some animals.

A white kangaroo

some llama

and some parrots.

Then over the bridge - where the white swans were.

Then into the market - funny baths to sit in...

Then something to eat - I tried the rainbow cheese...

On leaving I tried to visit Wat Bang Pheng popped into Pheng Tai but was unable - I did find the very big garden at the back though.

Wang Lang Market

Wang Lang Market was a market I visited and had a coffee on the way to the nearby Forensic Museum.

This market is a small version of many others scattered over Bangkok - apart from it is very close to the Chao Phraya River.

Kwan-Riam Floating Market

Kwan-Riam Floating Market - ตลาดน้ำขวัญเรียม, is a market which is next to a khlong and there are some shops on the water and you are able to take trips on the water - so it is not really a 'floating market'.

It is only open on the weekends and it is an extremely popular place for the local Thai people to meet.

Interestingly it is so popular that they have parking spaces a short distance away and then  there are samlors to take you there and back.

The entrance is a large area - much like a warehouse and the centre of it is full of places to buy foooood and round the outside are smaller shops to buy mostly clothes and then there is a small zoo on the corner of animals that you can feed...

Then over the bridge to more food to eat...

and here was where I tried my first rainbow cheese...

Then there were the seats that were bathtubs...

Then back over again to Wat Bang Peng Tai

Sammakorn / ตลาดนัดสัมมากร Market

Sammakorn Weekend Market is certainly a market with so many things to find - certainly very busy with all the local people from around.

It is a traditional market in the middle at the front and at the back of the market there is a plethora of food to buy. We normally split up but we always miss something. Sammakorn Market is small enough for you to walk up and down each row in a zig zag pattern - a wonderful trick.

Today I was focused on looking at the small things and there was a fascinating number of them - we thought that the Halloween toys were a nice touch.

But all these toy copies are  great - a lot cheaper...

Sometimes the clothes are not copies but simply cheap.

Torn jeans are in fashion again...

Tempted by some bits for the kitchen...

Boxes and bags for some people.

Then there are the belts - are they crocodile skin?

And of course lots of food...

Platinum Fashion Mall Market

Platinum Fashion Mall is certainly somewhere to visit if you like to go shopping for some clothes. We go here for clothes for our daughter - and there is a great amount of choice.

In fact there are 5 floors of things to go shopping for - which is more than enough.

Well what do they sell? Well so much I can hardly begin to start.

The Platinum Fashion Mall is an enormous building which seems to go on forever in each direction.

There are small 'booths' selling the clothes and I was surprised at the amount of different clothes that they had on sale. We did not find the 'label' clothes and I have a feeling that this was not the right place.

I did think that the model with this was a little 'exaggerated' and then I wonder who actually buys this underwear? OR have I never...

There was other things for sale as well - a bit strange.

We got here by taking the river taxi to Pratunam which is also another enormous shopping mall to got to - but that's another day...
