Rawai beach is not a beach for jet-skis and sunbathing but more of a beach for taking a long tailed boat from or having something traditional to eat or sitting on the jetty and watch the world go round.
There are a number of popular places to eat here; for Western food there is Nikitas restaurant Flints One Bakery; for Thai there is Rimlay and Salaloy - or just on the sidewalk.
There is a market near to the jetty but there seems to be a plethora of shops selling seashells which I do not agree with. There are also a number of Muay Thai boxing training camps near to here as well.
