Art-C House - Climbing Wall

Art-C House is a place for accommodation in Phuket Town. But we were there for the climbing wall which was inside! This was certainly not what we expected to find when we passed here.

So these are the rules.

Well it was wonderful and the people managing it were wonderful with our daughter.

Art-C was also a very big part of the building. A lovely secret in Phuket Town - but I could find very little information.

Wat Kosit Wihan

Wat Kosit Wihan is only one of  a great number of Buddhist Temples and I always try to visit each one once.

It is a little north of Phuket Town (near to Phuket Mission Hospital) - in the temple there are a number of places where the religious ceremonies take place - the most revered is the shrine hall (or uboscot). Be aware though that there it can get busy on religious days and sometimes in the mornings when sermons take place.

I did look for the 'golden laughing Buddha statue and a Lung Por Lod statue that I was under the impression were there but I may have been in the wrong Wat?

In the temple there was a place to burn people who had passed away and it definitely had an eerie quality to it.

There was also the teaching taking place - I forgot the name for this.

Then I found that there were steps at the back which took you to where there were graves of many people - I kept going up.

Then I found a statue behind bars? On coming back down to the Wat (which I was not able to get in) but walked around it.

I found a number of these smaller shrines in the surrounding wall - not something that I see very often but I read a lot about.

Certainly a special place to visit.

Phuket Downtown Market

Phuket Downtown Market is somewhere which is more in keeping with the older traditional markets - no air-conditioning, tarpaulin roof, sometimes there are no prices on display and a very interesting place to wander into - the mornings being the opportune time.

The amount of fruits there is quite substantial.

But there are trucks outside the market who sell in bulk - so every so often you will see vegetables on sale in enormous quantities - bags of limes for example. But I am not sure where I have seen the pumpkin used in a Thai dish - that lost me.

This is not a market which has been set up for the tourist - it is quite rare to see one here - which does make it all the more authentic. This makes it all the more reason to visit BECAUSE you have no clue as to what it is and makes it all the more interesting to visit.

So what is all is some of these things? Well I am at a loss with what this is, I have no idea?

Then the displays of dried or drying fish.

Then there is the Sino-Portuguese building adjacent to it - I have no more information about whose this place is than knowing it is there AND there is no information on the net regarding it!

You can have breakfast around the corner at many places OR the place for lunch is Downtown Kao Kaeng.

อนุสรณ์สถานถลางชนะศึก

อนุสรณ์สถานถลางชนะศึก is a sculpture garden in the middle of Phuket and it is not something that I read very much about it.

More is written about the Heroine's Monument that is located on the main road.

In fact I cannot find any details about this sculpture

But it is looked after.

Something not expected...

Here's the entrance.
